Cameron Hanes
Cameron Hanes is a modern day savage in every sense. I first discovered Cam a few years ago when a buddy of mine told me about this guy who was a super athlete who ran 100 and 200 miles races through the mountains. A guy who hunted big game like Bear, Elk, Moose, and any other quad-pedal animal on the planet - essentially by hand - with a Bow & Arrow. A guy who was a true hunter that respected life, fitness, and mental strength.
The thing I liked most about Cam Hanes is that there was a time in his life when he wasn't that remarkable. He struggled like all of us struggle. But at one point, he made a change. He decided that if he could run 100 miles then he could do anything. Including being one of the best bow hunters in the world.
Then in 2016 came THE BIGFOOT 200. The race started at Mount St. Helens in the Cascade Mountain Range of Washington State and finished in Randle, WA. This race consisted of 50,000+ feet of ascent, more than 96,000 feet of elevation change, and was 205.8 miles in length. Holy Shit, Cam was gonna run this thing. After that, I started doing more digging, friending him on Facebook, and just staying inspired by what he does every day which is: Run, Lift, Shoot.
Cam Hanes is still a very skilled and renown bow hunter in his heart of hearts. He is a fierce mountain competitor in ultra marathons. He is sponsored by Under Armor and Hoyt. He still has his day job with the city as a purchasing manager in Eugene, OR. He has his own podcast, line of clothing, and appears to be one heck of a good dad.
Live by his credo #keephammering #nobodycaresworkharder
